CALIBRARION OF AUTOMATIC PISTON PIPETTES

Calibrarion of automatic piston pipettes covers determination of pipette indication error for tested volume with extended uncertainty, and issue of calibration certificate.

Calibration process is conducted with application of gravimetric method, and in accordance with norm ISO 8655-6. Optionally, the calibration certificate can contain results from error evaluation determined by norm ISO 8655:
- systematic error es – specified in units [µl] and [%]
- random error – determined as standard deviation Sp in units
[µl] and CV expressed in [%].

Measuring retraceability is expressed by standard mass unit and determined by application of electronic weighing instrument (microbalances) equipped with calibration certificate issued by accredited calibration laboratory. Balances should comply with metrological requirements determined for gravimetric method specified in norm ISO 8655-6.
