Influence of gravitation

Apart from undeniable advantages of electronic weighing equipment, like the comfort of use, speed of weighing, ergonomics, there are also negative aspects.

One of the factors ,often underestimated and neglected, is the influence of gravitational acceleration on the indications of weighing instruments. Obviously the problem does not concern all types of balances and is associated both with construction of a balance and its resolution. The detailed analysis of the problem has been discussed in the publication WELMEC* 2 – Gravity Zones 3.3 which emphasizes the significance of the problem. Practice shows not all users and manufacturers are aware of the errors which might occur. More »

The value of gravitational acceleration depends on latitude and altitude which complicates the matter further, both for users and for manufacturers of weighing instruments.
